PTA/Friends of St. Benedict’s
Back Together - Finally!
What a simply joyous occasion our Summer Fair was last Sunday! After 3 years of distance due to the pandemic, we have finally had the chance to be together as a community to celebrate St Benedict’s - and what a super day it was! It was wonderful to see so many families together enjoying the festivities and entertainment on offer, whilst also raising much-needed funds for our school. Initial indications suggest that your hard work in advance and contributions on the day have raised approximately £5000 for our PTA funds which will go to funding the school minibus and additional projects for our children, including playground markings and activity stations.
A huge thank you to everyone, but particularly to our PTA , stall holders and staff team for their efforts in leading the day. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to spend the day with family and friends at school and hope this is the first of many whole community events of the future.
A letter of thanks from our Chair of Governors thanking PTA for their continued efforts.
A huge thank you! We have achieved our target with a little financial support from our PTA funds. This means we can now order another class set of Chromebooks, licenses and cabinet to compliment the three class sets we have already managed to purchase. We are just writing in the process of writing to all our contributors to thank them and let them know we have achieved our target due to their generosity.
The Road to the Rugby League World Cup Sponsored Fun Run
We had an amazing sponsored fun run and this has resulted in being an extremely significant fundraiser. Well done to everyone who had sponsored the children in such difficult times. Children did a lot more running than they needed. It was lovely to listen to our ex-pupils (who are now professional sportsmen) about their journey to the wheelchair Rugby World Cup, this gave the children real focus as to why they were doing the run.
The final total raised is not yet known as sponsorship forms are still being handed in and Gift Aid has yet to be claimed. Accounts update shows so far the event has raised an incredible £2893.
